Karen is an occupational therapist with over 20 years of diverse experience across hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, academia, special education, community-based programs, adapted music initiatives, aquatic therapy, and home care. She is deeply committed to promoting aging in place and enhancing accessibility for individuals with disabilities and their families.

As the founder of Adapting and Aging in Place (A&AIP), Karen collaborates with SEK Architects to help clients live safely, independently, and meaningfully within their homes, workplaces, and communities. A&AIP provides comprehensive assessments and serves as the central liaison among clients, architects, contractors, equipment vendors and designers—ensuring a seamless, person-centered approach to accessibility and universal design. The organization also delivers high-quality education and training for clients, families, and caregivers to support lasting, functional, and inclusive environments.

Clifford Leon – Assistant

Cliff is a highly dependable A&AIP team member who values structure, clear communication and consistency. He has a defined vision of the mission of helping seniors and individuals living with disabilities to live safely and happily in their home, workplace or community environments. Excelling in Microsoft Office and data management, Cliff brings organization, precision and dedication to every task. In his free time, Cliff enjoys taking walks outside, has a diverse taste in music including rock, pop, oldies and contemporary tunes. He cherishes connecting with friends and spending time with his sweet, little niece during her visits.
